Inspired Design
 In May 2011, Avalon Waterways is unveiling the
Avalon PanoramaSM, the industry's FIRST "Suite
Ship." With this ship, we are introducing a proprietary Panorama SuiteSM
design to maximize the river cruise experience. Simply put, this Suite Ship redefines
space: Space that was thoughtfully designed to enhance traveler comfort and views,
while also bringing an indoor/outdoor living experience on board.
In addition to boasting 17 of our award-winning Avalon Deluxe Staterooms on the
lower deck, the Panorama features 64 newly designed Panorama Suites, positioned
on the top two decks, showcasing a full, 200-square feet of living space. This space
comes complete with a large seating area adjacent to a Wall-to-Wall Panoramic Window.
When opened, this floor-to-ceiling window is nearly 11' x 7', and transforms the
entire Suite into the category's first Open-Air BalconyTM.
With a focus on bringing the beauty of Europe inside, Avalon's Open-Air BalconiesTM offer our travelers a fresh air, Panoramic Cruising experience
complete with epic views, in every weather condition, without compromising room
space. And when each room's Wall-to-Wall Panoramic Window is closed, the Open-Air
BalconyTM is transformed into a light, inviting and inspirationally
designed sitting room that's perfect for relaxing, reading a book or taking pleasure
in a romantic dinner.
Avalon's Open-Air BalconyTM can be enjoyed any hour of
the day, year round, adding considerable comfort to the overall guest experience.
With our Suite Ship, we're pioneering the new look of river cruising. Not only are
our staterooms and views 30 percent larger than any other small ship in Europe,
providing cruisers a renewed feeling of freedom and space, every component of the
experience, from bed and bathroom positioning and color palette to storage space
and sound-proof insulation, was wistfully designed for our cruisers to ensure they
enjoy all that river cruising has to offer. And perhaps most surprisingly, these
Panorama Suites are available at a price similar to that of ordinary staterooms
of other river cruise lines.
Inspired by design, the Panorama was crafted to entice all five senses. Some enhancements,
including deluxe woven carpeting, flowers, premium L'Occitane products and scented
sticks in our staterooms are subtle. Other offerings, such as new Avalon-branded
premium bedding (Comfort Collection by AvalonSM), marble
bathrooms as well as a perfect balance of warm interiors, natural lighting and panoramic
views are distinctive and unexpected. Combined, all elements provide travelers with
a unique feeling of space, freedom and comfort not found with any other river cruise
line.
 Avalon's new Panorama Suite Ship will be christened in May of
next year and will sail our popular 14-night Magnificent
Europe (Amsterdam/Budapest) itinerary for most of 2011. Holiday travelers
may also experience the new Suite Ship while enjoying the festive and enchanting
Christmas markets on our Christmastime getaways.
Mirroring the on board cruise experience found on all of Avalon's newest ships,
the Panorama Suite Ship also features a club, main lounge and dining room with sweeping
views, hair salon, Sky Deck whirlpool and Open-Air Bistro. In addition, the Panorama's
fitness room is more expansive, featuring additional equipment and space to renew.
The introduction of our new Panorama Suite Ship underscores Avalon's dedication
to energizing the river cruise category. For six years, we have inspired design
innovations that have become the new standard, industry-wide, including the introduction
of floor-to-ceiling windows on two decks of every Avalon vessel and the first to
bring a larger stateroom with deluxe hotel-style design, the Avalon Deluxe Stateroom,
to an entire fleet.
